How To Measure Your Tyres

How to measure tyres using the above example as a guide:
-
205 - Indicates the section width of a tyre (in millimeters)
-
65 - Indicates the tyres aspect ration - this is the tyres height from the bottom of the trear to the rim. This number represent a percentage oif the tread width. So in this example the height is 65% of the tyres width. Low Profile tyres would have a smaller aspect ratio.
-
15 - Indicates the diameter of the wheel Rim so if your buying replacement tyres, then this is the size of tyre you require (measured in inches)
-
94W - Indicates the maximum load capacity and speed at which a tyre can be operated safely should the tyre be fitted correctly, in sound condition complete with correct tyre pressures.
